Cheshire youth Ballet

Cheshire Youth Ballet is a ballet associate scheme for committed dancers across Cheshire. CYB doesn’t replace existing lessons, but complements a dancer’s ongoing training with a focus on broadening experience, improving classical technique and developing performance skills.

Our Sessions

CYB sessions run monthly at Manor Lane Studios in Holmes Chapel on Sundays. You can click here to go to the session dates page.

Joining CYB

The CYB associate scheme is open to committed dancers aged from 8 upwards, who are working at or above RAD Grade 2 (or equivalent) in ballet. There is a simple audition process which includes the submission of photos to demonstrate posture. Please remember that the associate scheme is intended to go alongside your regular classes, so we would of course encourage you to discuss this with your regular teacher first.

The next step

Principal: Laura Wilson

Laura has been teaching dance for over 20 years to Aspiring young performers.
Many students from Laura Wilson School of Dance and Cheshire Youth Ballet have been successful enough to go on to vocational training at top dance Institutions across the uk.
Laura says “Our aim is to inspire, guide and motivate every one of our committed dancers with classical technique and safe practice. A passionate dancer is a joy to teach, and our Cheshire Youth Ballet associate scheme provides a platform which enables committed students to raise their self-expectations and develop to their full potential.”

Lead teacher: Rebecca Adams

Rebecca is a professional classical dancer and qualified teacher.
With over 9 years teaching experience specialising in ballet and contemporary, Rebecca energises young and talented dancers to come together at Cheshire Youth Ballet for additional, specialised training with the aim of nurturing and inspiring our next generation of high performing dancers.
Rebecca says: “I expect the dancers to be dedicated and work hard, but most of all enjoy themselves. Through CYB they will develop skills and confidence in the disciplines of dance and performance which will propel them to make the best of every dance opportunity”
